The design, construction, fit-out and relocation of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is an extensive and ambitious project. After all, at 56,000 m², the Court building has quite the floor area. Brink has been supporting the ICC with strategic, tactical and operational issues since 2009. The project further marks the first time that the NEC3 Engineering & Construction Target Contract has been used in the Netherlands. This contract promotes collaboration between clients and contractors and encourages them to share risk management and to seek ways to optimise the project together. In addition to the innovative nature of the contract, this project involves a pioneering use of BIM – not only during construction, but also when the building becomes operational in the near future.
